Servicing
One of our core functions is to visit our customers, whether it be a fixed installation or mobile and carry out a full machine service.
This entails a full strip down to its component parts, degrease, clean and inspection before a re-build and finally a recalibrate.
Servicing Annually is recommended by both Uniflex and Gates to ensure accurate and precise crimping. Along with a little operator maintenance this prolongs the life expectancy of the machine and its serviceable parts.
Both manufactures claim with servicing and operator maintenance the crimping head and blades should last for 25’000 operations. In easy terms that 10 per day, every day for 7 years !!!!!!
Repair
Repairing damaged crimping machines can be a very costly affair with some companies charging call-out fees, extortionate parts prices and a hourly rate that would make Stringfellows seem a bargain

A damaged machine ?? Has it been serviced in the last 12 months ?? If not then we can carry out a fixed price service which would include he labour charge for fitting the new part AND the calibration !!! No call-out fee and the cost of the part is passed out with zero add-ons
Calibration
We carry out calibrations of the crimping machines post service included in the service charge, however we do offer this as a seperate service
Calibration is vitally important to achieve the correct crimping of a hydraulic fitting onto the hydraulic hose. Too much pressure and over-crimp results in damaging the hose leading to failure. Too little pressure and the opposite is true, the fitting wont stay attached to the hose under load of operation.
A Stand alone calibration is common when a part such as the micrometer has been damaged or the machine dropped or impacted.
